Old Kielder Castle Cottage

Great location with lots of beautiful walks and bike trails nearby. The cottage itself is cosy and well-appointed, with underfloor heating that kept us warm and comfortable. One of the best things was that the owner provided plenty of firewood, firelighters, and matches for the fireplace. We also loved the peacefulness of the area, especially at night.

There were a few minor issues we encountered during our stay. The bathroom's extractor fan didn't work, which meant the room would get really steamy after a shower.

Our stay at Old Kielder Castle Cottage was exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway. The location is brilliant, remote and peaceful, with walks and bike trails right on our doorstep. The night sky was simply amazing on Tuesday, and we even had the chance to visit the observatory, which offered stunning views even during the day.

The only small improvement I can suggest for breakfast is to have a more varied menu, offering a wider selection of options.
